Region: Neusiedlersee, Austria
Farming/Vinification: Organically or biodynamically grown grapes with minimal intervention avoiding the use of chemicals, additives and technology. This Syrah comes from 30 year old vines. The vineyards consist of sandy gravel, schist and limestone, which all enjoy a moderating influence from the extremely large and nearby Lake Neusiedler. The fruit is destemmed before crushing by foot. The wine fermented in large barrels with ambient yeasts and then aged for 2 years. Bottled unfiltered with no addition of sulphur.
