Region: Fleurie, Beaujolais, France
Farming/Vinification: Organic farming. From a single plot called "La Madone" of 0.5ha of old vines (60-90 years) planted on steep slopes of pink granite soils, located at an altitude of 400m, the grapes are hand-harvested and grown without any treatments. As done with the Morgon, the whole clusters are put into vats for semi-carbonic vinification with indigenous yeasts.
Notes: Deep, dark red fruit, violet & even a bit of citrus. It’s lush & simply fun to drink. Pairs perfectly with pasta.
