This vintage is one of the best as it offers a complexity and depth not seen in most wines. Having notes of toasted brioche and red fruits, still with bright acidity, the cuvee is balanced by hints of honey coated yellow pear and a fine persistent small bubble.
Grapes: 10% Pinot Noir, 44% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Blanc, 21% Pinot Meunier. 2.90 g/l dosage
Region: Comes from 35 year old vines grown in 2 separate plots, the Côtes de Champraux and Charme de Fin, that were also the domaine's first vineyards to be certified Biodynamic.
About the Winemaker: The Fleury Estate intended to create the wine that embodies their winery with the Robert Fluery cuvee. The winery took their best grapes from their best vineyards to make this blend of the four major varieties in the region of champagne. This bottle is fermented using the traditional agrafé method, a cork is held down by a steal staple (verses a crown cap which is what is now most popular). The reasoning for this is that the cork allows for micro oxygenation to occur adding complexity.
