🍇 Chenin Blanc
Region: Lyman Ranch, Amador County, California
Notes: Grown in red granitic soil at 1400’ in Amador Co., this warm mountain site yields a unique Chenin Blanc. Thick-skinned golden grapes ripen swiftly, with exotic fruit. Cool foothill nights help retain acidity/freshness, while red granite provides minerality. A perfect balance of ripe Cali fruit and alpine freshness. Smooth stones and gleaming marble trace the contours of a beguiling nose, the bouquet awash with Mirabelle plums, orange blossoms, tangerine, and lemon peel, all accented with delicate white flowers. This vintage is leaner and more concentrated than its predecessor, yet equally vibrant and perhaps even more intriguing. The exotic fruit and ample wall of spice dazzle the palate, leading into a finish that's sinuously long and inviting. Ideal accompaniments include chilled seafood or grilled fish.
- Whole cluster fermentation, full malolatic fermentation, and aged in Neutral French Oak and New Stockinger Austrian Barrels for 10 months.
