Region: Graves, Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷
Farming: Organic 🌱
Notes: A harmonious Graves Rouge, boasting delicate Merlot with violet hues and robust Cabernet in deep red shades, plus touches of spice, cigar box and earthy notes. Acrid notes of graphite, plum skins, loam and green pepper can be detected, while the palate features supple tannins, intertwined with nuances of red apple, black cherry and crushed rock.
From the Graves region, Chateau Auney l'Hermitage was previously known as Chateau Le Chec until 2012, when 10 formerly-abandoned domaines were joined together. Since 2012 it has been certified organic, harvested by hand from 25 year old vines, grown in a complex soil of limestone, clay, sand, atop gravel sub-soils. In mid-September, the grapes are carefully destemmed prior to fermentation with native yeasts, then aged in wood for 15 months, with less than 25% being new.
