Notes: Uva de Vida is a small, biodynamic farm in Toledo's Santa Olalla. Founded in 2005 by Maria Carmen López Delgado, it stems from her quest to cure her illness via close contact with nature. "If we care for the earth, we look after ourselves." She and her husband, Luis Ruiz, cultivate their grapes in Castilla's dry, continental climate, producing their Biográfico Tinto from clay heavy slopes facing northeast and southeast.
This vintage tinto has not undergone any filtration, nor has it been treated with sulfur prior to bottling, thus allowing it to express its naturally clarified character. It is dark in hue, but offers a light character, emitting a blend of spicy fruit, subtle earthy tones, and whiffs of purple flower. Its palate is vivacious and light, featuring plush texture, bright red cherry flavor, a hint of lilac, and an enjoyable umami component.
